Three-fold increase in metal processing efficiency for Promotech with a new 100% robot-operated machine – a step in adapting the company’s business model to Industry 4.0.

“Investments in innovative technologies are our response to the challenges of the digital revolution, also known as the 4th Industrial Revolution or Industry 4.0” says Marek Siergiej, CEO of Promotech. – “One of the steps was to adapt our internal manufacturing processes to new requirements. The purchase of a new machine began the process of investing in devices and tools reducing the human contribution to a minimum and increasing the productivity and efficiency.”

A new purchase by the manufacturer and exporter of innovative tools and automatic welding machines is Brother Speedio CNC machine with Rexio robot workpiece loading and collecting unit. The new machine is currently being installed and will be used to manufacture parts for PRO36 drills – the company’s best-selling products.

“For the first time we will use high-performance and high-durability PKD tools. With the new robot and the tools we expect the drill body machining efficiency to increase by 300%” says Artur Zawadzki, Production Manager, Promotech.

The tools used in the machining process will also reduce the retooling time, improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes and reduce the production costs in accordance with LEAN management techniques implemented by Promotech. This will also translate into higher accuracy of the end products and shorter lead times, and thus will give our products a competitive edge.

“This is the first fully-automatic production cell with remote monitoring and remote maintenance notifications on the machining process” says Artur Zawadzki. – “After implementing the information systems for production planning this will be the next step of adaptation to the Industry 4.0 requirements.”

Automation can also improve the weak demographic perspectives and growing personnel deficit, also affecting Promotech.
